I would like to introduce myself, my name is Doug. Yes I am a poetry fan, though this blog is not really a poetry blog. The reason I picked Poe’s stanza from the Raven for my home page was because Poe is one of my favorite poets, and was also a man who struggled with darkness, depression, and personal demons. Which is exactly what I would like to touch on in this blog. Not to have a pessimistic, where all doomed outlook, but to acknowledge that we all have dark times in our life and need a little hope.
I need to share from the start that I am a Christian, please don’t let that scare you away. I could certainly understand how it could considering the sad representation sometimes given by the church and individual believers. I will do my best when writing to not be preachy or judgmental. I believe we all stand on level ground with God. No matter what religion, race or gender you are, we all deal with darkness in our lives, no one is exempt.
My goal is to impart some hope to all those who are struggling. I will be posting 3 to 4 times a week, covering a variety of topics. I welcome your feedback, questions, or constructive criticism. I still struggle with many things in my life and certainly don’t have it all figured out. All I know is it’s easier to get through this thing called life if we have each other. I will also be checking out other blogs to follow, so any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you for reading:
